I have Auditory Dyslexia

I've been doing some research about learning disabilities and other problems that children could have that can greatly hamper them in their early lives. I feel that I have discovered what I had when I was little. I feel that I had Dyslexia. I learned to walk later than most kids. I was more emotional and sensitive than most kids, and I cried easily. I am still highly emotional and sensitive, and those traits enabled me to be very understanding of other's feelings. I overcame my speech problems by 3rd grade, and I was outspelling kids by 4th grade. I've talked and read fast ever since. I had speech problems because I didn't hear things correctly. I had coordination problems too, but they were just problems with my fine motor skills. They are fine since the 4th grade. I can write very quickly with no problem, and I can write very neatly. I was running faster than kids my age by the time I was in 8th grade, and my great speed was praised by track coaches. I have quick re...

Bipolar And Learning Disabilities

BIPOLAR AND LEARNING DISABLED - DO THEY CO-EXIST IN A PERSON BECAUSE OF IGNORANCE? It seems that a lot of learning disabled people can have many of the Bipolar symptoms. It is not because they have a chemical imbalance. I believe that they are suffering from being misunderstood, ridiculed, rejected as well as feeling frustrated. They are human beings with real feelings, and so they can be hurt like anybody else. If the learning disabled person is highly sensitive, then he or she can be deeply hurt. Maybe Bipolar Disorder would significantly decrease if people were treated a lot better. I feel that there is a strong connection between Bipolar and Learning Disabilities. I would call it the Undesirably Special Syndrome. I am saying that out of sarcasm. I am disgusted that people are getting unfairly labeled because they are different from the norm. Normal doesn't mean right. Normal is what the majority thinks is acceptable. Would you blame a Pre-Civil Rights black kid for being irritab...

Learning Disabilities, Mental Illness, Vestibular System

I want to get some things straight. I have been writing posts about learning disabilities and other related disorders because I want to help other overlooked and misdiagnosed learning disabled people to be understood. I don't believe that a person can possibly understand a learning disabled person if he or she is not learning disabled nor doesn't have a close relative that is learning disabled. There is a negative view about mental illness too. Some people think that if a person has a mental illness, then that person is dangerous even if they have depression and anxiety which is very common. I find that rather ignorant and ridiculous. However, it does bother me that there are people who get away with crimes because of mental illness including a man who only got 12 years for shooting and stabbing my mother because he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. There are lot of people with mental illness who aren't violent, and they are even peace-loving. I even knew a schizophrenic la...
